1. New Standards in Tank Cleaning in Ireland

   Murphy Transport now operates a purpose-built tank cleaning facility at the Port of Cork, offering customers a modern, efficient, and environmentally responsible tank cleaning service.

   Located at Ireland’s largest port and close to our Seveso depot where loaded tanks are stored, the facility allows us to provide both tank cleaning and cargo heating services in one convenient location.

   Tank Cleaning Services

   We offer dedicated cleaning solutions for both chemical and food-grade tanks.

   Chemical tanks are cleaned on two dedicated wash lanes, supported by an advanced air purification system. All emissions are safely extracted and treated, with VOCs and odours removed using a gas scrubber and activated carbon filters. This ensures full environmental compliance while avoiding any impact on the surrounding area.

   For food-grade tanks, two wash lanes with steam injection are available. This allows products with high melting points to be liquefied quickly and efficiently. We also provide kosher tank cleaning, with full traceability ensured through documentation integrated into our PLC system.

   Each wash lane is equipped with multiple drying connections, allowing tanks to be dried quickly and returned to service without unnecessary downtime.

   Energy Efficiency & Sustainability

   Wastewater from the cleaning process is passed through a residual heat recovery system, which returns heat to the rinse water. This significantly reduces gas consumption and improves the overall energy efficiency of the facility.

   Cargo Heating Services

   Adjacent to the cleaning facility, we offer cargo heating for up to ten tanks simultaneously using steam or hot water. This service is ideal for temperature-sensitive products.

   Each heating station is fitted with a temperature sensor that is continuously monitored via our PLC system, allowing precise, round-the-clock control of the heating process and providing customers with confidence that their cargo is handled safely.
